Ingredients :
- A bag of wings (whole wings preferably, any amount, just don't use the pre-seasoned, pre-cooked ones)
- 1 Tablespoon Cayenne Pepper
- 1 Tablespoon Cumin
- 1/2 Tablespoon Dry Mustard
- 1/2 Tablespoon Garlic
- 1 Teaspoon Salt
- 1 Teaspoon Pepper
- Large bottle of Hot Sauce (As a North Carolinian, I use Texas Pete. I'm convinced it's the best hot sauce ever.)
- Butter
- White Vinegar
- Lime Juice
Preheat your oven to 375 degrees. Mix together the dry ingredients in a bowl. Put the wings into a separate mixing bowl.
Trick : Do not break the wings. Leave them whole. This allows the juice to properly circulate through the wings so they end up super juicy.
Pour 3/4 of the dry rub mix into the bowl and mix the wings so they are fully covered. Lay the wings out on a baking sheet in a single layer. Refrigerate for 1 hr. - 1 1/2 hours. Pop the wings in the oven for 35-40 minutes, depending on the size of the wings. While the wings are cooking, (here's where you will need to alter to your liking) pour 1/2 of the bottle of hot sauce to a medium/large sauce pan and set your burner to medium heat. Add the butter. The butter not only gives that wonderful buttery taste to the sauce but remember, it will also make the sauce milder. So use as much as you want, or as little as you want. Lower the heat on the stove to low - medium heat once the butter has melted. Put the rest of the rub mix into the sauce. Add about 1 Tablespoon of Lime juice and a splash of vinegar. The best thing to do is taste the sauce as you go along, making sure you have it just the way you want it.
Once the wings are done, place them in another mixing bowl, pour in the sauce you just made and mix them really well, making sure to cover them completely with the sauce. Once mixed up, put on a dish, platter or whatever you choose. Pour the remaining sauce over the wings and sprinkle with parsley. Enjoy!
P.S.
You'll need a lot of napkins ;)
